How does a laboratory spray dryer deal with sugar containing materials?
The spray dryer has higher sugar content (if juice, Chinese herbal medicine or natural product extract).
Because most of the polysaccharide disaccharides have lower melting point, the sugar has melted when heated, and the polysaccharide disaccharide itself is easier to absorb moisture, so ordinary spray dryer will easily appear sticky wall phenomenon, and it is not easy to get good dry powder or granules. At this time, reducing the inlet temperature and outlet temperature of the spray dryer can get better experimental results.

The advantages of spray dryer are mainly concentrated on the following points:
(1) the spray dryer has good dispersibility, fluidity and solubility. As the drying process is completed in the air, the product can basically keep the ball shape similar to the droplet, and has good dispersibility, fluidity and solubility.
(2) during the drying process, the temperature of the droplet is not high, and the quality of the product is better. The temperature range of spray drying is very wide (80-800 degrees). Even if the hot air is used, the exhaust temperature will not be very high. In the early drying stage, the material temperature does not exceed the wet bulb humidity of the surrounding hot air, and the quality of the drying product is better. For example, it is not prone to protein changes, vitamin loss, oxidation and other defects. The quality of thermosensitive materials, biology and medicine can be close to the standard of vacuum drying.
(3) the spray drying machine has a very fast drying speed, and the surface area of the spray dryer is very large after spraying. In high temperature air flow, it can evaporate instantly.
(4) the production process of spray dryer is easy to be dissolved. Operation control is convenient. Spray drying is usually used to deal with 40%-60% solution with wet content. Even if the moisture content of special material reaches 90%, it can also be dried into powder products without concentration. Most of the products do not need to be crushed and screened after drying, thus reducing the production process and simplifying the production process. Within a certain range, the particle size, bulk density and moisture of the product can be adjusted by changing the operating conditions, which is very convenient for control and management.
