Advantages and disadvantages of three different atomization forms of spray dryer

Spray dryer is mainly through atomizing the liquid and drying it. The drying method is faster, and the operation is simpler and more convenient. The drying product has good uniformity, fluidity and solubility, and the product has high purity and good quality. There are three different forms of atomization of spray dryer, namely, airflow atomization, rotary atomization and pressure atomization. These three kinds of atomization have their own merits and demerits.

The airflow atomizing spray dryer is mainly used in laboratories and intermediate factories. The former two kinds of atomizer can not atomize the liquid, using air flow atomizer can atomize. High viscosity paste, paste and cake materials can be atomized by three fluid nozzle. The disadvantage is that it consumes a lot of power.

The pressure atomizing spray dryer is characterized by the manufacture of coarse particles and convenient maintenance. As the nozzle hole is very small and easy to block, the feed liquid must be strictly filtered. The nozzle hole is easy to wear and must be made of wear-resistant material. The pressure type nozzle also has a new structure, which is called pressure air flow type nozzle. It is characterized by a pressure nozzle in the center and an air flow nozzle in the surrounding environment. Atomization is divided into two stages: the pressure nozzle first forms a liquid film, which is atomized by the air flow for the second time to make the droplets finer. The advantages of this type of nozzle are: (1) by adjusting the pressure of compressed air, the droplet diameter can be adjusted and the operation is simple( 2) The material liquid with large output and high viscosity can also be atomized into fine droplets( 3) If the compressed air is stopped, the original pressure nozzle can also be used.

The rotary atomizing spray dryer is characterized by its large production capacity (large spray volume up to 200t/h), easy control of feed quantity, large flexibility and wide application.
